Shanah Tovah for 5770 Can you help us make BBYO’s 70th year the best yet? BBYO members have seen one of our most successful summers ever. Based in our new office in Hendon, we have had 120 members enjoy summer camp, 129 members experience Israel Tour, and 24 members going back to Israel on Atid. We taught leadership skills at the highest level to 10 members on DLTC, and 65 members went on National Veida to elect BBYO’s new national executive. Numbers aside, the events have had a consistently high quality, in terms of education, ruach (spirit), and fun. The year 5769, 2008/9, has ended with a bang. And now, as Rosh Hashanah approaches, we are planning for the future. Next year, 5770, is BBYO’s 70th anniversary. We will of course be in touch again to invite you to some of the celebrations. During the year, BBYO will continue its ideological review with a focus on Judaism, and will create an entirely new Jewish (and pluralist) educational programme. Also, we will be looking at sustainability, to discover how we as a movement can consume less energy, and help our members make a difference for the environment in their own communities. To help us do all of this, we are asking all our parents and friends to support BBYO into its 70th year. We are immensely grateful for the support that you have given us so far, financial and otherwise. However, BBYO does not take funding for granted, and without your support, we would soon be unable to offer our members our unique educational and leadership opportunities.
