An odd name for a cat, but it works

Hello all,

I've just returned from a lovely wedding-filled weekend in Dublin, where I even got to meet up with some of the Dublin exec (big shout out!). I was upset that I missed out on Mitzvah Day, but I hope that you all had fun doing your mitzvot, whether it was painting a school mural; donating food to the hungry; visiting the elderly; or whatever else you could think of.

Whilst at home, not ony was I able to spend time with my family, but I had a really good cuddle from my cat. I haven't seen Pfeiffer (named after Michelle Pfeiffer's turn as Cat Woman in Batman Returns) in a while, and she's lovely/really old, so it's always nice to see her. Those with cats will know what I mean.

I'm always surprised when I go away that work still continues - my cat doesn't change when I'm not there, yet there are always new developments here - but I wanted to let you know about a very exciting evening coming up:

The 1st December is World AIDS Day and as part of the SoAct committee (Social Action), we're running an activity and watching an MTV produced film about AIDS. It's being run in conjunction with all the other Jewish youth movements and will not only be informative, but an excellent way of giving to charity (if you missed out on Mitzvah Day, here's another opportunity!), and meeting other Jewish youth. Please please please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are interested in booking a ticket (£6 + a £2 charitable donation will get you food, activity and entrance into the film). I'll be sending out a flyer to all the chapters this week, so look out for it and tell your friends!

It'd be really great to see you all there. And this cat looks a bit like Pfeiffer...
