What is it? BBYO Shorashim is 13 days of pure enjoyment in true BBYO spirit. Almost every moment of every day is filled with incredible activities ranging from outdoor adventure sports to talent shows. We write and run our own educational and enjoyable peulot (programmes) on a huge range of topics from Judaism and Zionism to caring about the environment. You also have the chance to pick the sessions that suit you! Leadership Training For the first time ever last year, we included all the content from our Executive Leadership Training Course into Shorashim. This means that every single person will receive renowned leadership training from our very experienced madrichim (leaders), enabling you to run for Chapter Executives at the end of the summer, or take up leadership positions elsewhere. Away Days We also run our famous ‘away days’, where we take everyone off site in order to take part in an activity that just isn’t available anywhere else, in the past these included ‘Diggerland’, waterparks, local sites of interest and the beach! Adult Supervision BBYO Shorashim is run by a team of experienced, enthusiastic, and wacky madrichim whose aim on camp is to make sure that you have the best summer possible. The large tzevet (adult staff) of leaders are extensively trained to ensure that you have the most amazing time and make loads of new friends. All staff are CRB checked. Medical Supervision A full time First Aider will be on site throughout the programme andwill run clinics everyday to attend to the medical needs of the participants.The First Aider is qualified to dispense medication and will keep hold of al lthe medication and give out as appropriate. Food All meal are fully Kosher. There is also a chance to buy Kosher nosh on site at certain times in the day. Price Shorashim 2012 will be the longest summer camp that BBYO have ever run, at 12 nights and 13 days The price for Shorashim 2012 is £820 and includes coach travel from NW London, accommodation for 12 nights and 13 days, three daily meals, activities, excursions and last night extravaganza. Applications with a deposit £250 must be received by 20th April, although we strongly recommend applying early as applications received after this date are not guaranteed a place. The deposit is non-refundable should you decide to cancel except inexceptional circumstances. The final balance is payable no later than 8th June. As with all BBYO events, subsidies are available to those who are unable to meet the full cost of the event. Please contact the BBYO office for a Bursary application form.
