Executive Director (Permanent)

Operations and Volunteers Coordinator
​Salary: £26k–£28k | UK-based | Permanent | Some travel as required
​
This is a hands-on, people-focused role at the centre of BBYO UK’s programme delivery and growth. You’ll coordinate the logistics and delivery of national events, support volunteers and teen leaders, and help drive outreach and recruitment across the UK Jewish teen community. You’ll work closely with HQ staff, bogrim volunteers, and national and chapter executives.

ROLE OVERVIEW
Key Responsibilities

Event logistics & programme coordination: Plan and deliver national events end-to-end, including residentials (Shorashim summer camp, Machaneh Choref winter camp), leadership training, BBYO International programme coordination, and supported chapter events. Manage equipment/resources and track budgets.

Social media, AI & marketing: Help develop and deliver outreach and recruitment campaigns (with the Executive Director and marketing trustee). Create age-appropriate content using a mix of original material, BBYO International resources and AI-assisted drafting where appropriate (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.). Support chapters and the National Executive to strengthen local social presence and consistent messaging.

Bogrim & volunteer outreach: Establish and coordinate a new Bogrim Council, supporting alumni volunteers to build relationships across communities, visit schools, and deliver outreach presentations with teens.

BBYO International engagement: Support participation in international programmes and represent BBYO UK at global events when required (including International Convention in the US).
Skills & Experience
Essential: Operations/event management (or similar), strong organisation and attention to detail, ability to execute a social media/marketing strategy (ideally for young people), excellent communication and relationship-building, comfort using AI tools to work efficiently, safeguarding awareness, and ability to work within budgets.

Desirable: Experience in a Jewish/youth movement context, familiarity with BBYO, CRM/project tools, and volunteer coordination.

Flexibility for evenings/Sundays and key events, including 4–5 residential weekends/year, 10-day BBYO International Convention (US, typically February), and a short visit to the annual summer Trek programme abroad (Israel or Europe), plus other international events as required.
